Depending on the tour's lenght we view several not so obvious things such as: hidden statues  within statues, tributes and  memorials to famous New Yorkers, historic buildings tucked away in very short avenues. Even the parks we cross have hidden jewels. We also walk by the building where a 2 term US President lived at when I was a CU student. Besides The High Line art, this tour covers architecture and history of the neighboring “hoods” (New York Cindy’s  contraction for “neighborhoods”). So now that you’re starting  to read like a New Yorchah”, picture yourself walking through parts of  the West Village with someone(i.e. NYCindy) showing you the building  where Edward Hopper and his wife lived for 40 years. Incidentally, since I was present at the plaque dedication (held just a few weeks ago by by the  Historic District Council), I can tell you all about that  rainy day...In case you’re wondering, the other “hood” we visit is West Chelsea. In fact, the reason I  conduct this tour on Thursday afternoons, is on Thursdays at 6PM the West Chelsea artists  have their “art openings’. Towards the end of the tour, I will share my art opening invitation  that is scheduled for this Thursday starting at 6PM. This  allows you time to explore FIT’s museum as well as other Chelsea galleries. I will also leave you with some information on historic sites in the area you can also explore while your in the “hood”...
